Johannes Beus has optimized websites for search engines since 2001 and has written one of the oldest German-language SEO blogs since 2003. In 2008 he founded Sistrix, today one of the most widely used SEO tools in the German-speaking market, based in Bonn, and leads the company as managing director.
The visibility index
Beus is best known for the Sistrix Visibility Index: a metric that derives a domain's organic Google visibility from a representative sample of around one million search queries per country. It ranks among the most-cited figures in the industry.
Beus shares his analyses regularly at industry conferences; in 2026 he takes the stage at SEO-Day in Cologne.
